RevSpring, a communications and payments platform, announced it entered into an agreement to acquire Kyruus Health, a care access platform.
RevSpring offers tools for patient engagement, AI designed around the patient experience, price transparency tools, a payment portal and analytics tools.
Kyruus offers tools for provider data management, compliance and transparency, and patient engagement and activation.
According to the company, Kyruus' platform unifies disparate data across EHRs, credentialing systems and content management platforms.
The structured data interconnects experiences, enabling unified search and scheduling, as well as chatbots and mobile apps.
Following the acquisition, RevSpring stated that it will integrate Kyruus' search, provider data, cost, price transparency and scheduling tools with its patient engagement and payments platform.
RevSpring said it expects the acquisition to have an immediate positive impact by combining its patient intelligence tools with Kyruus' offerings.
"Together, we'll deliver something healthcare has long needed: a connected, end-to-end platform that makes it easier to find and schedule care, engage along the journey, all while understanding the costs—from the first search to the final statement," Graham Gardner, founder and CEO of Kyruus Health, said in a LinkedIn post.
"Our leadership team will remain actively involved while our talented team members continue working hard to deliver for our customers. By combining with RevSpring, we're thrilled to bring even more value to patients, providers, payers and partners by integrating key elements of the patient journey and making it easier for everyone."
THE LARGER TREND
In February, Kyruus Health partnered with Abundant Health Acquisition (aha!), a health experience company, to integrate Kyruus' care access platform with aha's "low-code/no-code" platform directly within a health system's digital experience platform.
Last year, Kyruus partnered with Nicklaus Children's Health System, a pediatric care provider, to help children and families in South Florida who speak either English or Spanish with scheduling appointments.
In 2022, Kyruus purchased patient engagement company Epion Health for an undisclosed sum. The companies stated that the combined entity will collaborate with more than 500 health systems and medical groups.
Kyruus announced it raised $30 million in funding in June 2020, not long after a $42 million Series D round.
Last year, RevSpring was acquired by Frazier Healthcare Partners, a private equity firm that focuses exclusively on the healthcare industry. Private equity firm GTCR announced it had sold the company to the firm.
Venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates, RevSpring's leadership team and investment firm 22C Capital also joined the acquisition.
In 2023, RevSpring announced a collaboration with Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company on a program aimed at making drugs more affordable for consumers and helping participating pharmacies increase revenue.
Through the partnership, MCCPDC will utilize RevSpring's payment tools to assist pharmacies with billing and enable them to track prescription sales using Kyruus' payment tracking tool.
